Oil Leak

my car is leaking pretty good from the pan. the bolts are loose. i tightened them up once, but i guess i should take each out and spray some brake cleaner in the hold and reinstall with lock tite. this car only has 75K. i have not had a car leak oil in years. is this common with this model? should i install a new gasket as well?


also, we bought an extended warranty when new in 1994, i believe 100k warranty. anybody know if a warranty expires due to time?

would a warranty cover an oil leak? and do independent shops perform warranty work. i hate the f**king dealer in san francisco.

The warranties expire at the 6 year mark.
74k miles is low and this kind of problem isn't common. I'm guessing you don't drive the car much.

If the pan bolts are loose, it probably needs replacement of the gasket.
