Odd turn signal/right parking light behavior

2000 E39 528i. Drove it home last night - all was well. This morning I noticed the right side halo lights and the right front and right rear parking bulbs were on. Got inside car to start it, noticed when the turn light switch is in the LEFT position, the LEFT light turn indicator comes on (as it should), but in the OFF position, the RIGHT indicator comes on. Then in the RIGHT position, the LEFT indicator comes on. I have not done any recent work on the car. Though I think I may now need to!!! Any ideas???

Update - 2 hours later....

Everything is now working fine. But I didn't do anything to fix it. If anybody has ideas, I would appreciate getting them!

Check your wiring loom in the trunk. Its quite common for wires to fray and short causing a whole host off wierd issues.

Solution to my problem is a "new" LCM. Found a used one, plugged it in - problem solved!!!
