well it turns out that what i thought was a hyd lifter sticking is (just!) a blowing exaust manifold when cold and or hard on the throttle. Problem is access to the devil. Pax side LHD () can hardly get a credit card down there never mind my hand and a ratchet! anyone know the quickest way to gain acces... engine mounts? carve a hole in the chassis and then re weld? just joking....
Need to lift the engine from underneath or from the top. Some of the nut you can get to them form the bottom with a long extension. Better to get somebody to help you, real time consuming and a pain. Need to remove the exhaust. I am doing the same to mine. Worked few hours today and remove all the nuts. was unable to remove it completely from the car. Get a long rachet. good luck.
