Hello, I'm thinking of converting my 2002 e39 530i sedan's front bumper to one of those listed on ebay Ya know.. the ones that come with the bumper and fog lights ( that apparently come with a connecter totally different than the one needed) for every BMW model in the world, that the conversion kit is advertised to be for. So I'm supposed to cut and splice the wiring? :surprise: And while I'm on the subject  Most of which are sold in a US state that requires a front license plate, and mounting of said plate seems to be overlooked in this complete conversion kit!? But some offer a tow hook mounting style that visually..(in my opinion) I would rather deal with the Law than use!
I'm really wanting to hear from some one, or one's that have actually done the conversion themselves recently. To hear what was actually involved. I mean, what extra parts were needed. I have read bits, and pieces all over the web about fender liners, under body panels, brake ducts, alternator ducts, and of course fitment.
Then there is ABS compared to PP. I have decided the PP is best. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. One last thing I could probably just drop it off at the nearest BMW dealer with a blank check, but I'm on disability so that means a tight budget! I don't mind DIY, and am usually quit capable.
