I have this beautiful 528i, the auxiliary cooling fan became extremely noisy, I replaced the fan thinking the bearings are worn, brand new fan make the very same noise. Any ideas??
When do you hear the noise? (engine running & hot, ignition on, or only when AC is active?)
Can you describe it?
The noise starts as soon as I start the car, engine cold, A/C off or on the fan is on, it does not matter if the engine is hot or cold, the thing sounds like an airplane prop. as soon as I disconnect the fan's plug the noise stops
No it is not catching on anything, you know it sounds like a electric motor that the bearings went bad on it, I replaced the fan with a new one to no avail, the brand new fan makes the same noise.
