No heat

Hello fellow BMW enthusiasts. I have a '93 525i with no heat. The AC works fine, no overheating, new radiator and thermostat. When controls are set to heat it just blows cold air. It's going to start getting cold soon and would love to get this fixed. I've read on some posts that it could possibly be the heater control valve but I have no idea what or where this is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A look at the control valve you mentioned and the heater core could need a look.

Very helpful links - thanks.

I should also mention that this morning I noticed that no matter where I have the 3 slider controls set air blows throught the dash vents. I can feel little if any air coming from the floor vents when eveything else it shut off. Does this perhaps lead me to something different or would the heater control valve still be considered the likely culprit?

Thanks again all.
