No Brake Lights - BMW Forum

All of a sudden my brake lights died. Im getting a message on the control panel that says BRAKE LIGHT CIRCUT SEE OPERATORS MANUAL. No bulbs or fuse are burnt out and all the wiring looks good. Anyone have any ideas.

most likely a faulty brake switch.

by the way, its a '89 535i. Brake switch checks out as ok. Any other ideas from anyone. I've never seen this one before and it looks like I'm not the only one.

I have two cars. One 535i and one 525i, both 1989. I just swaped the switch in both cars. The 535 with the problem still has the problem with the 525 switch. The 525 doesnt have the problem with the 535 switch.

check specifically fuse #1 and fuse # 15
