Everybody here seems to know this, but I just got my 2004 530i.

This model seems to be referred to as the E60, and previous years seem to be E39, etc.
What's the difference between the designations? Are the E numbers German and the 5xx
numbers American, or what? I can't find this in the FAQs. I have to learn the new vocabulary.... Thanks for any help you can offer!

Whatever you call it, it's a great driving car, although the "improved" iDrive system
can still use some tweaking.
