New guy to forum, RHD E34 525i

Hey guys. Well Kinda new to the forums. Been doing a lot of lurking around on the site.

Name is Jhay. From Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Picked up this beauty in Fall of '10. Its been sitting in winter storage since early Oct waiting for our horrible winter season to run out...months from now

This is my first BMW ever owned. Headed down to Calgary, Alberta to pick this car up and on the same day drove it home by myself.
Kinda scary trusting a car to bring home 18hours away when you never had the chance to test drive or even kick the tires. Luckily I had 2 friends check out the car for me.

Manual sport cloth seats
132,xxxkms(when purchased)
17 ACS rims
Sunroof delete
Eurospec bumper trim and rear windshield(no 3rd brake light)
Aftermarket deck, 6 disc CD changer.

Im pretty sure there are more things I haven't added.

Came with some problems. Alot of the electrical wasnt wired up....brakes were't tightened...brake pedal set to far in..etc.etc

I have yet to get the car up and safetied to run around legally. So to wait till next year.

Got plans of lowering it, replacing the cracked headlights, remove tint, hopefully new rims and new paintjob.

Anyways I'll be on here often to ask, lurk and post.

i sold my project scooter(2008 Honda Ruckus GY6 swap, streetched)and had enough money to still buy my ticket to where it was.





im lucky i have friends that know their BMW stuff and are always willing to help..as long as beer/pizza and filipino/german food is involved

Yes I have. But right now I dont have the money, time and location to do that.
If anything it'll be next winter season.

Well it looks like I went ahead and bought myself..or more like the car an early Christmas present.

Got the rims for a crazy steal of a price. Lucky to have good friends.

A set of 18inch Gunmetal BMW E39 M5 rims. With crazy bald rear tires and some curb rash. Rims are dirty. Basically pic was taken minutes after bringing it inside.





Planning on getting the lip redone. Possibly polished lip. Not sure yet. Idea's?

Also gonna need a new set of tires for the rear. Car is gonna be lowered to so gotta keep that in mind.

Also got a new/used set of headlights. Since mine is a right hand drive car the headlights are NOT DOT approved. Which means(where I am from) cannot have a safety. Thus cannot be drive on the road legally(unless a permit)





One of the hight beam headlights is cracked but thats not hard to replace.

But I guess for now. Im not too familiar with tire sizes and what not. But what would be the best affordable tire size I can put on these 18's? And yes I know about getting hubcentric spacers

The rims don't look bad at all. With a good power wash i'm sure they'd look great. But.. If i were you i'd go for some coil overs lower the car and put some 15's with 215/45/15 tires on there. I think it'll look good.. but then again if you got a good deal.. Cant argue with that!

yea, same here i'd like to convert the car to a manual but i have no idea where to take it in. and I don't want to do it my self!

yah i thought id never go anything over 17's. i was really looking for other bbs styles out there to replace my ACS rims. ive had some nice 12lbs 15's on my nissan 240 before.

i have some springs waiting for me in....spring..lol...i think its just a 1.2 drop but thats fine with me

but then there was my friend telling me there was some M5 rims I could get under 600CDN. i wasnt too fond of 18's. but when i started seeing these pics i just had to.
