Today I placed a bid for a 99 540i with the sport package...I was so excited about the car...I took it for a ride and IT IS FAST, that I forgot to see if it has the angel eye headlights?

Thanks for the input!

You'll have no angel eyes unless they were added aftermarket (but it's a rather common mod). You MAY have Xenon/H.I.D., as it was an option that year, but even if you do, they won't be a projection design and won't have angel eyes.

Good luck on your bidding!

Bid...accepted

I submitted a bid of 9.5K and it was accepted. I am very excited about picking up my car next week...now I have to find aftermarket sites...where do I go to get some good aftermarket parts Like for My Angel Eyes...I am not going to destroy this car! I will do tasteful mods and within moderation...

Thanks

Angel eyes to be honest the best product IMO is umnitza. Flame the shit out of me all you want. Mine worked great. They even replaced a ballast that I mounted incorrectly and got water in. I wish they had survived my accident. I'm planning to buy another set from them, but to be honest I will probably buy from jlevisw instead. Same product, better service is what I've heard. But my experience with umnitza was great, and I personally have no reason not to recommend them.

You've got a ton of aftermarket performance options for the 540... it may be a bigass sedan, but that v8.... oof. I'd start with an exhaust and a chip... you probably won't need more.

Your very next mod needs to be an M5 rear sway bar. E-Z bolt-on (provided you have a 16mm open-end wrench, not rare, but not commonplace either), and can be installed in well under one hour. You can order the sway bar from your local dealer, or anyone who deals with OEM BMW parts. It's surprisingly cheap, at about $100 to $120. All you'll need is the bar and the rubber pivot bushings - your existing end links will bolt right up to it.

On that note, you should join the BMW CCA; they offer a lot of resources, not the least of which is parts and labor discounts at your local dealer (subject to their participation). I got something like 15% or 20% off all of my parts. The monthly "Roundel" magazine alone is worth the BMW CCA membership, at about $40 per year.

Thanks....Great Ride

I am not so sure about the angel eyes...I was reading the post that is currently in the forum and those guys are getting NASTY about the angel eyes. Jeeze that dude just wanted to improve his lighting and appearance and an argument broke out...couldn't keep track anymore...

I am going to get me one of those sway bars...and maybe a new brake kit...with all that motor seems bringing it to a halt each time would become important too...

Thanks for the resp...
