New Celis Tails And M5 Grills!! Pics Soon...

Some of you may remember Jim "WindowPro" who purchased a 2000 540/6 last October, within about 2 weeks of the purchase of my 1999 540/6. You may recall his farewell a few months back as he decided to re-tool his family and sell the 540 and buy a Sequoia.

Anyway, he sold to me his barely-used Gen-U-wine Hella Celis taillamps for the 1996 to 2000 E39s (complete with trunk-mounted ballasts) along with the like-new M5 grills he'd installed on his 540. The packages arrived at my doorstep this afternoon! JOY! :P

So although Jim may have left the E39 family (temporaily), his memory will live on via two of the very few modifications on my 540. These things are really gonna look good - I'll have to snap some photos. I just might have to re-do my avatar...

Right you are. The man has class. After I offered to send him payment up front, he insisted on sending me the parts first, before he would let me pay him. The parts arrived today, and today is when I got the cashier's check drawn up for him, which I am sending out tomorrow.

I even managed a brief phone conversation with Jim to set all of this up, and he was just as you'd expect on the phone - it was great talking to him.

My wife has about had it with BMW-related issues after watching me labor for 7 hours in the heat last Saturday installing that front M5 sway bar, so I'm probably not going to mess with installing the lights or the grills until at least the weekend after this upcoming one.

Good hearing from you Bill. I've noticed your recent relative silence, and hope all is well.
