New 2000 540i/6 Driver

Hi Everyone!

Just like to introduce myself.

I have a few cars and recently due to the ridiculous insurance rates, I have to part with some of the machines.

I am getting rid of my 2002 Corvette Z/06 and my 2001 740i/Auto. I am keeping my 1988 Ford Mustang 5.0 and my 2000 540i.

My BMW's were used strictly for long trips, mainly for work.

So here I am... from a near high hp modified Z/06 to my stock 2000 BMW 540i 6-Speed.

The quote I just got for my Z/06 was $10,217/yr after taxes from ING Direct. With baby #2 on the way (due sept 6, 2004), it makes no sense to throw away this kind of money on insurance only.

I am disgusted with the lack of regulation of the insurance industry in Ontario (Canada).

On a positive note, I hope to find a wealth of information here so I can feel happier about cruising in and "souping up" the 540. Any pointers, tips or tricks that I can do to the 540?
