Need Help! Power Drain Problem 95 540i E34

Good morning everyone... HAPPY MONDAY.... Only if your car starts????

Here is an overview of the problem.

This weekend I attempted to install a new set of headlamps. Took 5 hours just to remove the old ones then to find out the set that I purchased does not fit in this car... Anyway, put the old lights back in the vehicle without a problem. Went to start the car and no power?? Ok I figured that seeing as I left the hood up all night from the previous days work that the battery must have been drained.. Jump started the car, let it run for about an hour, took a short drive....

Shut off the car, restarted with no problems... Ok problem fixed (NOT) ghead

Get up brite and early to head off to work, out to the garage,,,, Car does not start. Dead as a doornail....

Also, puddle of brake fluid on the floor???

I can see where the brake fluid is coming from but why the power drain??

There are two soft-seal hoses at the front of the master cylinder that are leaking. Is this part of the power drain?

Any thoughts, suggestions, tips, troubleshooting would be great.

It seems that Prior to changing headlights you did not have a problem. Correct? If so
A. Possible old headlights wiring check, recheck? and/or
B. Possible very weak/old battery.

Thanks for your reply... No, prior to the change there were no problems. As it turns out the battery was old. Replaced and all is well. I guess the battery lasted longer than expected... It was dated 02/98
