hi, does anybody know what part this may be and what it does?? Its a thin (1.5 x 11-12 x about 4 inches) black box located in the very back of the whole center console behind the heater and the ac cores by the firewall.. It has three cable/wire systems running up to it, and the number on the box is:

6411-8 390 060.4

and below the bar code is:
Loewe. 1 391 856.1 01211

Do any of you know what part this is?? Thanks

Is this what you're talking about? (see attached)

If so, this is what the BMW ETK calls the "Heater Radiator."

Without running the part # it sounds like your referring to the IHKA module (heat / ac module)

Did you ever find out what this part is you were looking for? I have the same question on a 90 535i and the local dealer can't even find it in his system.
