Thumbs down need advise

could someone tell me exactly what a engine emission control valve is as a warning light has appeared on the dash, e39 530i.

You havent got one, its all controlled via the ECU and sensors, what light you got on???

the warning light hasn't appeared again but will get the car checked out. it has just passed its M.O.T with flying colours , it's going in for a service in the next week or two , my local beemer specialist is absolutely brilliant so will get them to give it a check over
