Navi Question

I have a 06 525i without navi. Is it still possible to add navi to the vehicle? If so how much do you think it would cost.

Thanks

1. Yes it's possible.

2. A lot. Multiple thousands of dollars. Just buy a Garmin, it will be so much cheaper.

LOL! Thanks for the quick response. I guess Garmin would be more practical.

Ive done it in a 04 545 E60. Cost is several thousand just in parts. you need a CCC navigation unit, antenna, antenna cable, I drive controller- hi, a new screen, an LVDS cable, a new Menu button... etc. Once parts are installed even if you do it yourself you still must find someone to do the encoding for you which is hard to find. Most dealerships will nto do it because its not an approved retrofit, the vehicle order in the car must be changed which is something that normally only BMW engineering will do. Basically, its a PITA and its expensive... you're better off trading the car in on a car with Nav or buying a Garmin like Prof said

check out x5world nav section, they have tons of general nave experts. But I agree,
a new car would be cheaper in total real cost in $, time, tears, lost lovers and jobs etc
google bmw forums. and then search for nav retrofit.
I just saw a picture someone posted of his interior all torn to hell. It was posted to deter
folks that ask your exact question, seriously.
