Nav Question

I just bought a '00 540i. The nav tells me that i am outside the map limits, I have south eastern cd loaded. I do see some roads but only major roads. I dont see any details at all. I have the scale all the way up to 400 feet(meters?, cant remember right now which one it uses, feet i believe). Any ideas??

Also thanks for the few posting i got when i asked for advice between the 540i(6speed) or the MB clk430. It is so much fun to drive.
