The CD for my navigation system keeps ejecting. I'll put it in and about 10 seconds later it will eject, rendering the GPS navigation useless....has anyone else had this problem before. I did about a year ago, but it went away. Any help would be appreciated...
regards,
P.S. I was thinking overheating....but that's just an idea...
MKI or MKII navigation? Could be that the CD is dirty or scratched - try wiping it down and see if that helps. I had a similar problem before I upgraded to MKIV.
It's the MkI GPS unit....The disc is perfectly clean, however after I popped the top off the unit, i saw that the CD was not even spinning....could the motor be out on it?

Easy way to find out would just be to hook up a standard 12v battery to the terminals of the motor. If it spins, then the motor's ok.

ITS NOT A 12v MOTOR!!! Thats an easy way to toast it for shure. Do the smart thing an put a multimeter on the leads, check for current, it you have it, you know the motor is toast.
