My 98 528i is leaking a clear, golden fluid near the driver's side tire. It looks like regular oil but has less viscosity. The dealer said it was the control arm bushings. They also replaced the power steering hoses and oil canister housing which were also leaking. I've looked under the hood and find no trail. Before I pay the fortune to get it repaired, is this consistent w/ leaky bushings? It's about a rag full of fluid and doesn't show up everyday.
on a serious note --- there should be a trail from the busing if it's leaking
however, the liquid is clear
so wipe it with a rag and see if the rag become wet???
