Im quite new at this forum, i drive a 2000 e39 535i (M62). i had a similar problem with mine a while back but in my case when i dip into the gas the engine stalls but does not go off, the problem was that i had a defective mass air flow sensor and when i got it replaced, i dip into the gas my car takes off like a rocket.
A simple test to eliminate the MAF is to simply disconnect it (electrically) and see if it will do it. The other option is get hold of some brake cleaner or MAF cleaner and give it a good hosing out, it may have some foriegn material on it after 10 years of running around. Take the MAF element out of the duct work before you start spraying it.
iv had the codes read it had 3 probs camshaft position sensor ,asr, fuel pump relay any ideas to were fuel pump relay is its not in boot thats for m5 model is it under the bonett under pollen filter is so witch 1 .and any idea wat and were the asr is thanks
Its not the fuel pump code you want to chase its the cam position sensor, this causes stalling conditions, hesistations, roudh running. It is the intake one also not the exhaust one, the ex cam sensor will not cause drivability concerns
