Modifications on a 94 530i

i just got my car..
and there are a few mods i would like to take place in order to make it both faster and look better...

1. what suspension upgrades would you suggest i start with?
2. how do i remove the shift knob without breaking it? (automatic)
3. in general i would like to give it more immediate acceleration. what is the best way to do this?

keep in mind that i have very little money. so i would like to know the cheapest ways to do these things.

Firstly, That said, try the search feature about your questions; you'll find plenty of good results.

Automatic shift knob is hel in place with a small hex screw, IIRC 3-mm. As for the suspension updates they tend to be so 'personal' that you will probably get a different opinion from every person. I guess the consensus would be a sports spring set and better shocks followed by better sway bars.
