Micron Filter Replacement

My E39 needs new replacement charcoal filters and I would like to replace them myself. My question is: How do you reset the light on the dash? Does it require a special tool, or does it reset itself. The filters are $38 each at my local BMW dealship and my car requires two. I have found replacements, however, in the BMP catalog for about half of that. Any suggestions?

with a reset tool silly!

Find someone who has one, theyre around 150 bucks.

But if you plan on doing most of your own work, pick one up, it'll be worth it as it also displays engine error codes.

I assume these are the same ones that are used to reset the oil change lights?
