Mechanics

Hello,
Caveat: I'm a blockhead when it comes to cars...I love my beemer, but don't know didley about it.

Now, I was just wondering where I oculd go to learn as much as I can about the older 5 series beemers (mine is 1988 528e). I would love to take a hands on course...does anyone have any recommendations for videos, classes, etc?

im in the same boat as you. My plan is whenever I have a problem with my car I will go work on it WITH my mechanic. I will pay him the same price and everything just he has to let me help him work on it. I have a pretty good relationship with him so I am sure he would be happy to.

Thats a great idea...unfortunately, I have not found a BMW mechanic in my area and have taken the car to the auto care chains like Pepboys.

Depending on where you are there are graduate schools available to you so you can learn the basics then do what I did and specialize beyond that...feel free to contact me if you would like more information, I would be happy to talk to any of you
