I need some advice please. My rocket (E39-535i) ran low on fuel whilst i was rushing to work. Stopped to top up, noticed that fuel guage light was still on and not reading to indicate my recent top-up. later disconnected the battery to se if this would cure the problem, only to find that fuel guage still reads empty and no range reading on OBC computer. Topped up 2wice over the week as I travel about 74 miles to and from work every day, so I think fuel pump is working as it has not stalled yet( touch wood). I believe the problem is the fuel level sensor/fuel sender. Has any body ever tried replacing one, tips would be appreciated. Also got problems with my remote lift for the windows. I can use the remote to open the windows but cannot close with the remote.
Thanks for the response. visited my local BMW, cost me £25 to do a quick diagonitic, it's the sensor levelon the fuel pump. ordered the part, would cost me double to get it fixed by BMW, might try to do it myself.
