Newbie to the site so just to let you know the background;
I blew a hole in my Cylinder head the size of an orange about 4 months back and since completely rebuilt my M20 engine. The M20 sits in my 1987 Eu E28 and is currently driving well after the rebuild. I want more....
The 2ltr I6 isnt quite cutting it for me as I need more... 'Punch'..? I like the sound of an M52 planted where my M20 currently sits as the TwinVANOS-ness of the M52 2.8 lump pushes my buttons.
Haven't done anything yet as the plans are in my head for now but with some inspiration, I would love to start. Current plans are to yank an M52B28 from a donor car and break the rest of the car throughout the year.
Hehehe... Apart from the obvious engine, tranny, loom and ECU's... You have to consider the exhaust, intake and rad/conns.
You might have to bite your lip and go for the slightly simpler M50 (M52 is it's successor), but if you get the "works" with the M52 then it should be fine !! ;-)
