hi
have bought an aplina with no keys. got one off bmw but it doesnt work.
originally the car was parked up and the positive lead on battery removed, then locked with key.
this tells me because of no power the deadlocks havent been operated? am I correct?
broke the rear quarter light but car wont open from inside
any suggestions whilst I wait for bmw to sort me a key?
thanks
If you can't pull up the inside locks then it is probably deadlocked and there is no way you can fix that except by reconnecting the battery.
From Bentley manual 515-2
"To manually unlock passenger door, place the ignition key in the door lock cylinder and lift the door handle while turning the key fully in the clockwise direction"
I guess in USA that means the RHS door?
If that works you may have to synchronize the locking system after fixing the battery problem.
There are other threads where people have connected battery to starter motor leads and other places to get the doors ope. You still need a key though.
