Locked Out! - BMW Forum

Hi all, bit of a problem.....

I was driving home from work the other night when suddenly all power to my radio and windows went off, however the car still drove fine. Once I got home I found that I was unable to lock my car. Later on that night I went for a short drive and everything was working fine again. I got home, locked it up and went to bed. The next morning I went out to my car to go to work and I am completely unable to unlock it!!!! S I cant get in at all!!!
My thought are that I may have a damaged fusel link but I am not sure.
I would appreciate any thoughts on what it could be and also does anyone know a way to get into the car when the central locking is not working?

There are emergency procedures for such an occourance (IE: dead battery) that may help you. Your owners manual should tell you of these. Otherwise, it's in the bentley service manual, If your car is an e34, reply and i'll post the relavent info.

It is an E34 525i. I have the Haynes manual but not Bently.

It IS the fuseable link. lol It's an annoying issue!

to unlock the car without power, hop over to the passenger side and turn the key almost to the deadlock position while you pull up the handle. That should pop the lock up manually.
