Hey guys,

Anyone know if I could upgrade my headlight system to that of an HID or Xenon lighting system on a 94 530???

I'm also thinking of doing a minor adjustment to my sound system. I would like to add a small subwoofer as the current system doesn't do the best of job in playing the lower frequencies....any suggestions?

I myself am very curious as to the answer to this question, I am concidering purchasing a 94-95 525i or 530 , the only thing holding me back is I don't care much for the headlights. I prefer the 3xx Series headlights, I've been very curious if theres a way to make them look better, I hope someone responds.

Actually I have spoken to Sporky (one of the members in the forum) and he has provided a great solution. But it does involve some technical know how, far too much for me to be comfortable doing it.

He proposed completely retrofitting the light assembly by basically taking the stock projectors out and replacing them with the new Hella Xeon HID projectors. The X5's projectors would fit nicely, but the lighting assembly requires some modifications to fit the larger projectors, and it is relatively expensive. You would also need new ballast and bulbs. I want to have Sporky to the job for me!

Let me know if you have any further questions...if I do this upgrade it will be done this summer...

If you're consider the E34 5 series watch out for the block, they had problems in the past...if you can afford it get the 540! My 530 has plenty of power but I really really want the 4.0 engine!! :P
