If you don't know where the reservoir is located then it would be best to have someone else repair it for you. You probably just need new grommets for the pump and level sensor. They are $2.00 from BMA Auto parts. Takes about 3 minutes to fix. But you could have a cracked reservoir and that would either mean repairing the plastic jug and having it leak again in sometime or replace it altogether for about $40.00

Hey, thanks in advance
Yes, it's an E39 1999 model.
The funny thing is that I've topped up the washer fluid twice to the point where I can't see it through the filler neck and no leaks.
Just this weekend after I washed my car, I topped up the wahser fluid up to the very top to the filler neck and next morning I can see a long stream of puddle and I longer can see any washer fluid through the filler neck.
According the the plastic cap on the washer tank, it says 4.5L, but I'm sure that puddle is no where near 4.5L... so I'm really puzzled.
By the way, did you managed to find out why your E39 leaked?
Mine leaks also. From what I can see by looking behind the wheel liner it's the hose that connects to the pump. You should check it, it may be something minor.
mine also leaks. it's probably the rubber bushings but i'm too lazy to switch them. i've kept it dry for so long that i might have even ruined the pump. oh well.
Looks like it is a common E39 fault.
Mine leaks too when I top it up. I think the reservoir runs all the way down under the wheel well...?
I decided not to bother coz' there's always enough left for emergency washes.
I prefer to hand clean my windshield whenever I can, wipers and washer fluid don't do a good job anyway.
