Leaking Sunroof! Help! - BMW Forum

Sunroof is not seating properly and is leaking like a bitch. Just drove home in a rainstorm now the headliner is soaked! Help!

Is it a little open, not seating all the way? Your owners manual shows you how to close it manually if stuck. Also, check the E34 REPAIR MANUAL on this forum for addtional information.

try a new sunroof gasket??

make sure your sunroof drains work. if you poor water into the inner part of the frame you should see water come out where front door meets fender but actually under car and also where rear door meets quarter. these seals are ment to seep. Alot of times when windshields are replaced they use too much sicoflex and it pinches rubber drain.

I did the emergency sunroof close (the sunroof motor is shot from previous owner). however i think the drains work correctly. the sunroof was actually not seating properly in heavy rain thats why it leaked. now as i look, one side of the glass sits up higher than the other when its closed. any ideas? im consulting my bentley manual for help.

I'm sure you checked already, but check again.... There is probably something underneath preventing that side from sitting properly.
