No, you dont need an updated version as far as I know, a couple of my friends have Xenons fitted and LED rears (1998 & 1999) and they never changed the LCM,as I was there helping and only one of them had a slight problem with a resistor which had gone before, went out got a new one and just soldered it on,but this can happen whether you have xenons or not.
