The heat isn't very hot in the 525, and for $30, I'm going to swap the microfilter.

Is there a way to do this on the e34 without pulling the glovebox.

I see you can do it on some 3-series cars, and I'm that lazy that I thought I'd check before pulling it.

In E39 Under the hood/2 microfilters...but for the E34? 1 take a look at this home made stuff...interesting!

On an e34 youre gonna have to pull the glovebox. E36 you can sneak it out w/o pulling but e34 youre better off just pulling glovebox.

Thanks guys.

I also pulled the black box that's behind the filter housing. Nothing I looked at told me to do that, but I couldn't get the filter out with those wires in the way.

Also, the retaining clip for the interior piece that covers the passenger side got removed my me, which allowed much greater access.

I guess there would have been a way to do it leaving those things alone, but in 40ish weather outside at 9.30, I wanted to get it over with as easily as possible.

I do have better air movment now though.
