Hello, I am having a problem with my 525I. Every time I start off from a stop I get a loud knocking or banging noise from under the car. It sounds like it is coming from around the transmission but I am not sure. I have inspected the engine mounts and the transmission mount with no apparent defects noted. I did find a broken exhaust pipe hangar bracket. Replaced it but that did not fix it. After going above ten miles or so the car drives fine with no noise or vibrations at all. Just under ten miles or so.
Any suggestions before I call the dealer's repair shop? Please help!
It could be part of the tail shaft assembly/mount that is on its way out. Some of them have heavy rubber parts which take some of the shock out of the drive train.
