im sure u've seen my other posts about my idling problem. Heres what happened: i replaced my spark plugs cuse they were HORRIBLE. got new NGK's, and then i replaced my TPS because my other one fell out and broke..so lucky. and well when i was putting that other tps in a wire for my idle control valve came off and so i had to sauder that on the best that i could. yesterday was not my day. NOW, whenever i turn on my car, it'll rev up to about 2k rpms and then it'll drop and when i hit the gas it'll hesitate a little and most of the time it will just die, fast. everytime its in neutral it'll die and my power steering and power brakes go out; no fun!
but yeah any suggestions on waht it could be? i cleaned out my Idle Control valve and so thats sparkley clean. but it won't idle at all. any suggestions on what it could be? it seems like the TPS is broken but ITS BRAND NEW! that throttle position sensor has lifetime warranty on it and all. but yeah any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.
I also checked the AFM and the flap opens without sticking, it doesn't seem to have a problem. thanks guys!
THE CAR IS A 1985 BMW 528e!
it sounds like its possible that the icv wire that you re soldered is at fault, i'd check it and make sure its not shorted at all, and then check the resistances of your ICV to make sure thats not damaged.
well, i talked to this one guy today and he said to make sure that u hear a click every time that u push the throttle down. so yeah i did that and no click. he told me that i put the TPS in wrong and i have to put it in until i hear a click. any special way to make sure that happens??
