Well,
Just bought a '95 525i yesterday. Automatic, unfortuneltly, but its really hard finding a stick. Drives great looks great, but kinda heavy, and seems little underpowered. BUT, nice car.
Anyway, I never had a 5 series. What can I expect out of her, interms of problems and excitment? :P
Let me know what you have been through with yours...
hey I have a 95 525i that I bought off a friend Its in my shop right now. When i frist drove it it was a tank and the handleing is at times bad. Now I am modifying mine. It had a 5 speed in it when I bought it Scence I have put a 6 speed in it New sport frame racing wheels Porsche brake pads and roters are the best for this car with out a dought sway bars are a must also. But as it sound like this can cost alot of $$$$ I have droped about a years work money on the car and anyhting I have won racing. But let me tell you its worth it I would take it out any night over and race in it. But I wouldnt race it just stock. Its a fun car to drive tho without a dought.
Yeah, suspension system are the first to go I guess, which was in my case with my 1990 BMW 535i (yah, that's five THREE FIVE... 3.5 Litre Engine hehe). Steering is a bit 'loose' and not as excellent in terms of turn radius (well I'm comparing it to my old C-class Benz). Otherwise it's a great fun car, very fast and muscular (535i, not the underpowered 525i...).
