Interior Lights Keep Coming On

My car is currently parked on the drive and the interior lights keep coming on and going off - this is happening at totally random timing and is really pissing me off. Anyone got any ideas before I drive her to a watery death in the local reservoir???

Is it possible for a wire to contact the metal body and shorting out. Or a bad connection in one of the interior lights. The metal can move enough to contact the body. Can you trace the wires especially around the pillar for such contacts?

I think the contacts on the switch may be sticking a little - just enough that they keep making contact. I remembered that on Thursday night my partner switched the light on and off and then last night this problem occured. I switched the light on and off again and the problem has now stopped.
