Installing rear shades on a E39?

Has anyone ever looked into getting the rear sunshades installed in their car? What prices did you come up with and how hard is it? I dont really want to tint my windows but my 2.5 year old sun hates the sunlight in his eyes. thank you

like tints in the backwindows? i know of a way to do it and thats to take out the original piece of glass in the car door and replace it with a tinted piece. Go to your local junkyard with a friend who knows cars pretty well as its not the easiest thing to do. find your same body type that has tints and take out the window to replace with your own.

I dont want tinted windows, I just want the retractable shades like the oem ones. the dealer told me today that this is not upgradable on my model. oh well

Give the kid a hat and some sun glasses. Better yet, attach a small sunbrella to the car seat.

There are shades that attach with suction cups so they can be placed just where you need them. Maybe something like that would work on both the side windows/rear window.
