Guys i have a 2000 540i sport with 77000 kms. i am thinking of installing the Dinan CAI, the one that goes down behind the headlights and bumper.
I see the Dinan site recommends the Stage 2 chip upgrade -- is this really necessary? i live in Trinidad and we dont have a Dinan dealer to do the upgrade. Also in this position is does the filter get very wet and dirty faster?
I just want the engine to breath better and get a few more hp and tq. I really dont want to upgrade the chip right now.
The upgrade is not necessary for the cold air intake. It is only necessary if you want added torque and hp. as for the filter, Dinan CAI comes with a sock that covers the filter for harsh weather conditions.
