Question installation of stereo in e34 540i

hi guys,
now its time to install a new aftermarket stereo in my bm..
i bought a sony cdx-gt670u, basically a cd tuner with mp3, front usb, ipod aux etc..52wx4, 3 pre out.
i know that i have to bypass the factory amp in the trunk, thats easy, i found the wiring diagram for that, but what about the speakers?? all 10 of them??
what can i do, what wires are to be connected, what goes with what?????
can someone help me out here, maybe whos done this before, or knows cause i dont!!!
i have a 1994 e34 540i, european...and want to install headunit using maybe existing speakers, or will buy front kick panel sony xplode 4 way speakers for front, maybe 6x9's for back, and if necessary a sub with amp. thats all not too fancy, this all if cant use existing speakers, maybe have to exclude tweeters and mids at the front, i dont know...help!!!!!

well i managed to install headunit by myself, without any help...
now the only problem is volume, sounds okay at low volume, but cant go too loud, too much distortion...headunit, with 52wx4, is giving factory amp too much power, so its clipping...2 amps running..
maybe have to bypass factory amp, to run factory speakers straight off headunit?
will try that next, hopefully better sound..
if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know...looks like nobody knows though, posted a while ago, no answers????

Yeh its a hard one mate, usually the head unit is specially made for the units, but if the amp has RCA inputs on it you should be able to run some RCA's to it from your head unit to the amp and problem solved but if it runs hard lines to it ie. high inputs than its as you said it will keeping on clipping. Probably not much help but I think thats the case.

Hi Guys, Not sure whether you got sorted. Anyway I uploaded some schematics which should help if you still need it. My suggestion would be to replace stock speakers with high quality off-the-shelf speakers and add appropriate audio crossovers where the Amp is located now (boot/trunk) since the input from the headunit and output to the speakers are there as well. Fitting after market amp/s would require you to route the RCA output to the same location and still fitting cross-overs after the amplified audio. A good Audio specialist should be able to advise or even do the install.

Cheers

Ouch! You should have used the factory amplifier first. Buy a wiring harness from ebay. I changed my head unit and connected the factory harness to a harness that I purchased from ebay. The sound was perfect. Less money spent for a decent sound. Unless you want "the works" and totally change the speakers and amp and head unit.
