Imperial Rims on Euro E28

Howdy all,

I am looking at getting some new rims for my euro E28 528i.

Unfortunately I am riding on metric rims which are non-existent in Australia. (as we are on the imperial system yippeee)

So my question is, can imperial rims be fitted onto car?

If they can what are the specs that I need to look for?

Sorry for what must be an incredibly noob question but gotta start somewhere

They need to have a 72.56mm hub center, 5x120 bolt pattern and et20 offset.

It's fairly easy to find wheels ... any e34, e38, e60 etc wheels should fit. 3 series wheels wont work and e39 wheels will need hubcentric rings (74.something to 72.56 -- usually costs like 20 dollars).

Thank you so much Torque, much apriciated.

From the looks of things a 17" is the biggest I could squeeze in there, just by eye mind you. A set has caught my eye but they only come in 18's there wouldnt be any hope would there?

If they're 8 inches wide or less, they'll work. You'll need 215/40/18 tires and they absolutely have to have offset in the range of et18 to et20. Otherwise you'll probably rub somewhere.

That said, that tire size isn't really all that popular so tires become somewhat expensive. Personally, I'd stick to 17s

Any brands and/or models that are popular on the old Beemers?

Most of the pictures I have seen failed to mention the models
