Well I have a 1990 525 and the a/c vents never put out much air volume. I took it to the mechanic and they tried a fan resistor sword and no improvement. Well eventually they went to the evaporator core and it was plugged up with debris. Why did BMW wait until 1991 to have the idea to put on a/c filters? lol I just seem to have the vehicle that just months later they improved everything. Anywho I still love da BMW and wouldn't give it up for anything. Especially that now the fan output is outrageous to what it was!
