Hi guys, I just got my 2002 525I this passed tuesday...It needed a valve cover gasket. I was able to take of the valve cover with no issues, and was able to put it back on..When i got to the part where the ground straps went on i was confused...so what i did was i connected the one side to where is suppose to be and the other end to the Coil..BUT NOT ON TOP OF THE COIL..UNDER THE COIL. I did that on both straps and when i tried to start my car i heard something crack..i tried it again and heard the same thing..
SO I checked the pic online and relaized i did it wrong and now my car wont start. The dash lights dont come on..the lights on the Gear shifter flicker, my door lights flicker..i only have the battery light and oil light that comes on..
I know i shorted out the car..I did check the fuses and they looked fine.
Im completely lost at this time...
Any help would be much appreciated.
If you totally disconnect the section that you originally wired incorrectly, do you get any more dash lights coming on?
Do you get any fuel pump or starter noise when you try to crank it over?
