| Hi. I have a M20 525i and I'm going through a general service. I've gotten to replacing the (rather old-looking) HT leads and have noticed that on lead 6 is a small ring which I suspect is a coil. The connector for this coil goes past the dissy and thermostat housing and vanishes down the other side of the block. I'm guessing this is some kind of TDC sensor or speed sensor or somesuch?
My concern is, a standard 7-pack of HT leads won't include this "feature". Do I have to buy a bunch of leads from a general store and then a lead 6, complete with coil from BMW, or is there some sneaky way of getting this coil off the HT lead without damagin either, and fitting it to a non-BMW lead?
Thanks in advance! This is probably a stupid post but this is the first time I've changed the leads on this car.
