
I HAVE A 1988 528E THAT I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON FOR SOME TIME
NOW. I HAVE REPLACED THE TIMING BELT AND ADJUSTED THE VALVES, BUT IT RAN GREAT FOR A WEEK AFTER THAT, THEN IT WENT BACK TO STUMBLING UNDER A LOAD, LIKE A HILL, OR JUST ACCELERATING TOO QUIKLY. AS LONG AS I SLOWLY ACCELERATE AND GET UP TO SPEED IT RUNS GREAT. ALSO IF IT IS REAL COLD OUTSIDE IT RUNS MUCH BETTER. I'M NOT SURE IF IT WOULD BE THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR, THE AIR FLOW METER, THE TIMING REFERENCE SENSOR, THE E.C.U., OR THE CHARCOALCANNISTER. RIGHT NOW IT WILL NOT PASS EMMISIONS. I HAD REPLACED THE CATYLITIC CONVERTER BEFORE THE TIMING BELT. CAN ANYBODY PLEASE HELP ME?
