I just bought a 2002 530i from a guy who claime it has xenon headlamps. The headlamps seem to work well however I have no idea whether they are really xenon or just halogens.
Open the hood and look on top of the headlights. There should be a high voltage warning sticker on top if they are factory xenon. If they are aftermarket then look for some type of ballast mounted on or around the headlamp to step up the amperage to the light.
