how to take out the thing holds cd/cassette/MID? (E39) - BMW Forum

I don't even know what it is called. You know, the central thing holding the cd/cassette and MID, with a wood trim filp. How to take it off? I took out 4 screws, but look like the beige trim around it blocks the way out. Help

Do you already have the CD/Cassette and MID out? Are you wanting to remove the entire lower dash panel? Because that is all comes out pretty much in one section or so.

So the cassette and MID are removed. Now I want to remove the platic cassette chassis with the flip door.

I looked in my bentley manual, and it looks like that is part of the entire center console, you probably have to remove the entire thing. Why do you want to remove that part?
