You didnt say what year your car is, but if its 99-up you'll need one of these:
Amazon.com: Metra 40-EU10 VW /BMW/Euro Car to Male Motorola Vehicle Antenna Adapter: Electronics Amazon.com: Metra 40-EU10 VW /BMW/Euro Car to Male Motorola Vehicle Antenna Adapter: Electronics
You'll have to unplug it from the stock radio and run this to where you mounted your aftermarket radio, use this adapter to get your radio signal. Hope this helps...

Im thinking 97 doesnt need one, but if it does, that one (Metra part number 40-EU10) will be the one you need.
