Hey Cosmos, FWIW, there's a guy on Roadfly who is using your same nickname. But I know it isn't you because this guy apparently has a manual transmission. Thought you'd be interested.

My 525i has 213,000 miles on it and it looks and runs like (nearly) new. It's been frequently serviced by a high regarded BMW specialist in the Washgigton, DC area and almost always covered when not being driven.
This prompts another question: What major service has your Bimmer required since new? My engine and transmission are original and untouched, but I do have new shocks, shock mounts, radiator, fuel pump and water pump. How about you?
Mostly original stuff. Trying to slowly restore visuals and little things that make me broke. I love the car. I bought it cheap. I spend too much money fixing it. So many pay checks lsot to my car and sometimes i feel it's not worth it. In fact i know its not wort it. I'm paying private school tuition and cant afford it. Might be time to sell

1987 528e 375,343 miles on original paint, interior, engine and automatic transmission (I have had the car since it had 110,000 miles). Until the tranny went out two weeks ago I would have been able to say that it "Runs, looks and rides like it did when I first got it." In fact my 17 year old son has claimed it as his car and until the tranny went out 2 weeks ago he was shocking his buds and their rice rockets nearly daily.
We will either rebuild this transmission or replace it -- weighing all the options.
WOW I think we have a winner. So sorry to hear about the tranny. I think you got your money's worth though 2" class="inlineimg" />

I totally agree that we have gotten full value for our money from our Bimmer. My goal is 1 million miles. I was inspired to this goal buy the Volvo High Mileage Club -- I had a Volvo 145 with 450,000+ miles on it when my ex-wife totalled it. The Volvo club actually had mileage honor badges you could purchase for the grill of your car. When I got my first BMW (84 318i) I realized how much better built the BMW was than the Volvo and decided that if I got a 5 series I could easily take it to 1 million miles. My wife is even asking when we are going to get it back on the road and "piling on the mileage"
