How to get your fogs on with high beams

First of all, dont do this if you drive your car on public roads...but i cant control what you do.

I figured it out on the e34. By accident mostly. My foglight wires were broken, so they didnt work. so I went to advanced and bought new wires and spliced em up.

Well it turns out I connected the wires backwards. The result...all time running foglights. If the lights are on, the foglights are on.

Problem. The foglight switch doesnt work anymore. If you turn it on, it'll tell you your foglights are out.

It also allows your foglights and high beams to be on at the same time

So, if your bold, crawl under your car...take some wire cutters, cut your foglight wires, reverse them, reconnect them somehow (solder, wire nuts...whatever) and bingo. your done.

And no fscking with your LKM...just dont flash your highs at people at night...its not very nice in the first place, and with 6 lights...its downright dangerous.

Have fun, and use your brain, as always.

Also, you COULD wire up some switches that would allow you to shut them off... If anyone wants to try it, I'd greatley appreciate this info.

Look inside your airbox next time you change your filter/have a charged dremel battery

You'll see on the inlet holes that theres a "cone" arround them. rip/cut out that cone, you get more air across your filter, it increases noise, but also gives you better airflow. Free horsepower!

Torque, it'll make your car louder, and give you a little gain in HP, i did it around the same time as my air filter, so i cant tell what gave a bigger jump... Its a nice, cheap mod though. (total cost, 3 bucks in dremel cutting discs)

Is it illegal to have both fog and high beam in the States? I'm in New Zealand and all BMW here can use all the lights at the same time, ie. 6 together without re-wiring anything.
