How do youremove the back of front seats on '77 E39

Can anyon tell me how I can remove the back of drivers seats? I tried to pull on it but it won't budge.

I'm confused here...a 1977 E39??

On the E34, I remember it's just lifting up the whole panel from the bottom,
then pull off. There are clips on top and bottom, the bottom kinda catches on, that's why the lift.

On the E39, I have not taken it off, but I think I recall seeing my mechanic unscrewing 2 screws on the bottom of the panel, then pull it off.
Someone might be able to confirm that.

I think he is talking about removing the seat backs of the front seats however we need some clarification on if the car is truly an e39 or if it is something else.

I mean't a 1997 E39. I need to remove the back of the front seat. Sorry.
